CONCORD, NH — Two people were sent to Concord Hospital on Friday after a rollover crash on Interstate 89 north in Hopkinton. At around 4:30 p.m., capital region dispatch began receiving calls about a rollover crash at Exit 2 on I-89 in Concord. Not long after, another call came in reporting a rollover crash near Exit 6 in Hopkinton. Dispatch told Concord firefighters she did not know if it was actually two separate accidents or one accident with one person not knowing the accurate location. Later, dispatch told EMTs, New Hampshire State Police confirmed a crash was near Mile Marker 10.8 in Hopkinton. "If you just want to confirm," she said. Command said they would travel up I-89 to confirm where the crash was exactly, according to scanner chatter. "That's a pretty big difference," command said, about the distance between Exit 2 and Exit 6. Dispatch then signaled Hopkinton EMTs for a second time about the crash at Exit 6. Dispatch stated two people were out of the vehicle and had injuries. A few minutes later, the Concord battalion chief stated there was no accident at Exit 2. Fire and EMTs exited off I -89 at Exit 3 and waited just in case they were needed somewhere else. Hopkinton fire and rescue teams arrived at the crash and stated the vehicle had heavy damage and was about 25 feet of the highway into some trees. After confirming the crash, Concord companies waiting at Exit 3 returned to service. At 4:45 p.m., another re-tone was issued for Hopkinton EMTs to the crash scene. EMTs later took two patients to Concord Hospital. Later, Hopkinton fire was requested back to the crash to assist state police as a tow truck pulled the vehicle out of the trees. Got a news tip?
