Press release from Tri-Valley Haven: Tri-Valley Haven is opening a new food pantry on 150 N L street in February 2022 to accommodate the growing needs of our community. Food insecurity has grown significantly in the Tri-Valley area due to a rise in unemployment and skyrocketing housing costs that have been exacerbated by the ongoing pandemic. Tri-Valley Haven's new, larger food pantry be assessible to individuals and families in need from Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin via multiple bus routes. Tri-Valley Haven will run this pantry using a "client choice" model that empowers food pantry clients, or guests, to pick the food that is appropriate for them and their family's dietary needs. Tri-Valley Haven will offer more fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, dairy, eggs, etc., all free of charge for local residents in economic need. The new food pantry space is now being converted into a bustling food market which requires shelving, a walk-in freezer, refrigerators, an industrial sink, composting bins, and more. To support this new pantry and local families in need, Alan and Mary Burnham are contributing $25,000 to a Matching Campaign to benefit Tri-Valley Haven's new Food Pantry! All donations made to Tri-Valley Haven before Monday, January 31, 2022 at midnight will be matched and doubled by Alan and Mary up to $25,000 for a total of $50,000! Please visit Tri-Valley Haven's website at www.trivalleyhaven.org to donate. Every contribution will make a difference. Alan and Mary Burnham were asked why they decided to make this generous gift to Tri-Valley Haven. Alan responded, "Tri-Valley Haven effectively feeds and shelters so many local families in great need. Mary and I wanted to support the Haven's great work and make a difference in our local community. I hope others will join us in raising these vital funds for the Haven's new pantry so that no Tri-Valley family ever goes hungry again." Tri-Valley Haven thanks the Alan and Mary Burnham and all Tri-Valley Haven supporters for helping us to create a community free from hunger and abuse.
