Press release from the Village of Glen Ellyn: January 13, 2022 By purchasing the property, the Village hopes to spark interest in this site that has long been identified as a redevelopment opportunity within the Roosevelt Road corridor. "Encouraging re-investment in these sites has been a goal of the Village Board for many years," said Village President Mark Senak. "We are excited about the opportunity to bring new development to this area, which we hope will breathe new life into the properties and serve as a catalyst for further reinvestment along the corridor." In anticipation of closing on the hotel properties, the Village issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) in August. In September, the Village selected Kon Savoy Consulting Group of Evanston, IL to assist in identifying a vision for redevelopment of the site and to recruit potential developers. The Village will begin a visioning process with Kon Savoy in early February and will encourage community participation as the process moves forward. Concepts considered for the site may include commercial retail and restaurant uses, multi-family housing, affordable housing, or mixed-use development.  This press release was produced by the Village of Glen Ellyn.
