CLEVELAND — A 23-year-old woman was shot and killed at a Cleveland housing complex on Wednesday night.
At 8 p.m., two women — the 23-year-old and a 26-year-old — were trying to buy narcotics on Woodland Avenue, Cleveland police said. The 23-year-old approached a vehicle at the complex and then gunfire erupted.
The 23-year-old was shot multiple times and collapsed. The 26-year-old was grazed by a bullet but managed to drive away, police said.
When Cleveland officers arrived at the complex, Cleveland Metropolitan Housing Authority police were already there, giving aid to the 23-year-old. EMS then rushed the woman to MetroHealth, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The 26-year-old drove herself to St. Vincent Charity Hospital. Doctors treated her for a bullet graze on her head, police added.
