AURORA, IL — Fifteen East Aurora High School seniors have been recognized by the College Board National Recognition Program for "stellar achievement in coursework and standardized testing," District 131 officials announced Friday. The achievement reminds "the district community that a Tomcat's ability to reach their full potential knows no bounds," officials said in a news release. To be considered, the College Board examined students' grades and PSAT/NMSQT, PSAT 10 and AP exam scores. The students earned awards as well, including the National African American Recognition Award, National Hispanic Recognition Award, National Indigenous Recognition Award, and National Rural and Small Town Recognition Award. Each Tomcat will remain a member of the program throughout their time at the high school and are able to include the achievement on their college or job applications. "This achievement is especially impressive given the degree of change and flexibility East Aurora students have had to adapt to over the last two school years," officials said. "On behalf of the entire district community, we are proud to congratulate these Tomcats as they continue to remain committed to their own academic excellence, representing the talent and spirit that is foundational to East Aurora."
