HOOVER, AL —The Hoover Fire Department responded to 12,665 calls in 2021. This week, the department revealed why those calls were made. According to the department, the most popular type of call was for medical help, of which there were 8,008. The breakdown of the other calls are as follows: Citizen Assist, 2,266Alarm Calls, 1,121Fires, 221Severe Weather, 153Other, 896"We are very proud to serve our Hoover community," the department said in a statement when revealing its 2021 calls.
