Hello everyone! Our current foster, Buckley (3yr Shar Pei mix), is looking for his forever people! He’s only been with us about a week, but he’s really come out of his shell. He’s still a bit timid, but he’s getting more confident by the day. He’s mostly housebroken and has adjusted to his crate super well and now goes in very easily! He’s super sweet and loves to cuddle and get scratches! We haven’t had him around men or kids, so not sure how he is, but he’s food motivated so he learns super fast! He’s not a very confident dog so he doesn’t love going outside of the house and gets a bit nervous. We’ve been working on very short, positive outings with lots of treats and he’s been doing much better. He knows sit and lay down, and is working on a “that’s enough” command to have him stop barking. Absolutely loves enrichment toys and games, everything from treats in a blanket to snuffle matts! Obviously not sure how he is with other dogs or cats. He tends to be timid in new situations so I would recommend lots of time and treats if future adopters have either. This guy is really great and super fun to be around. Sadly, he needs a home soon though as both me and my partners usually manageable allergies are REALLY bad around him (he has some skin issues) so he needs somewhere else to go asap so we don’t have to take him back to the shelter 😞. Unfortunately we’re talking can’t breathe, eyes swelling shut, hives, all of it in spite of keeping the house clean and taking tons of meds. I’d really like to see him be adopted, only $25 adoption fee takes him home and comes with his microchip registration!
