Description
The Experimental Ensemble of Cape Cod Seeks Percussionist To Play Our Roland Digital Drum Kit. Greetings. I'm Scotty West. Recently our good friend and band mate Brendan Medeiros had to drop out of the band for health reasons after anchoring our rhythm section for 12 years. We thank him for his years of service and begin the search for a new player. We're looking for a knowledgeable and experienced percussionist with solid meter, creative, reliable, personable... a team player and able to take direction. Though we are looking for someone who will be committed to the project, we don't demand a lot of your time. We rehearse once a week from 7pm to 9:30 in Cotuit. Monster jazz chops are not necessarily required but our arrangements are quite specific (requiring memorization) and some pieces do contain odd time signatures. We have charts, demo recordings and "minus-one" practice tracks for all parts. Our new percussionist will be playing our Roland digital drum kit with the Roland TD10 brain. The TD10 has hundreds of quality drum and percussion samples. The digital kit will take some getting used to and will turn some players off, but you may also be intrigued by the expanded percussion arsenal the TD-10 provides and the fact that you will NEVER HAVE TO HAUL OR SET UP YOUR ACOUSTIC KIT either for rehearsals or shows. Just show up with your sticks and rock out! The digital kit also solves stage micing and feedback issues. The entire band plays direct into our AWESOME PA system which includes a Zoom L12 stereo mixer/multitrack recorder... 2400 watt Crown Microtech amp... and JBL 4699 loudspeakers with 18" woofers. In almost constant operation since the 1990s, XEnsemble is an all-original "fusion" septet performing our own blend of jazz, rock, blues, classical and world influences. We're not a club band and we're not really in it for the money. We're an art ensemble/concert band and perform 4 to 6 shows a year... mostly outdoor summer concerts on various bandstands around The Cape. We're all very serious about what we do and have much fun playing together. Check us out on Facebook at The Experimental Ensemble of Cape Cod. Perhaps you or someone you know would like to come play with us? Drum teachers may have an advanced student who would like the opportunity to play some original music with an established band? Any suggestions you might have would be much appreciated. Happy trails, Scotty Scotty West - Music Director The Experimental Ensemble of Cape Cod Cotuit, MA 02635
