Service Writer Job Description
• Interact with customers daily, listen to their questions and concerns and provide timely responses
• Educate clients about the company’s products and services
• Schedule appointments, take orders, monitor service progress, calculate charges and process payments daily and open and close work orders
• Review customer accounts and report changes to internal staff
• Manage complaints, returns, and resolve customer grievances
• Serve as a link between customers and different departments in the organization
• Provide excellent customer service from intake to release of products and perform any additional follow up
• Listen carefully to customers and assess the products to determine the best repair plan
• Advise the customer on the repairs that you recommend and offer pricing quote
• Communicate with the Parts and Technicians to make sure everything needed is on hand
• Provide updates to customers as their work is in progress and completed
• Maintain customer records
• Motivate and support by providing guidance to production staff
• Ensure all safety and health standards are met to keep the company accident free
• Communicate with upper management regarding problems or issues impacting production
• Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations
• Set productivity goals for team
• Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality
