The Landing and Wharf LLC is looking for a Maintenance Technician for The Wharf in Port Angeles, Washington. This position is full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday thru Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Selected candidates MUST PASS a pre-employment background check. Position: The Maintenance Tech reports to the General Manager and will be responsible for varying tasks related to the maintenance and improvement of The Wharf, including, but not limited to: - Various Tenant Improvement Projects (plumbing, electrical and construction) - Painting interior and exterior. - Minor electrical work - General Plumbing Projects (fixing toilet valves, sinks, pipes) - Finding and diagnosing problems in the building. - Getting on the roof to work (clean roof, paint, caulk leaks). - Get under building on riprap rocks to work on Western Deck. - Landscape grounds in the warm months. - Must have strong organizational and follow-up skills. - Attention to detail and a self-starter. - Effective communicator and problem-solving skills. Qualifications: - Experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and being MacGyver. - Ability to work independently and follow specific direction when given. - Availability: 5 day work week and reliable. Flexible scheduling is accommodated. Occasional weekend and/or night work will be required. - Good appearance, tidy, well spoken, calm. You will be interfacing with our tenants and their customers, so you must be liked by them. - Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. - Previous experience as a maintenance tech is preferred. - Must have a valid driver’s license. Compensation: - $19/hr plus, depending on experience. - Employees accrue PTO. The applicant must pass a pre-employment/post offer background check.
