Press release from the JAX Chamber: January 12, 2022 JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Hakka Kitchen, a Jacksonville-based restaurant offering plant-based Chinese countryside cuisine under the House of Leaf & Bean brand, is hosting a special five-course, plant-based and pescatarian dinner in honor of the Chinese New Year on January 29 at 7 pm. The price is $100 per person.The Chinese New Year, also called the Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, takes place on February 1, 2022, and will be the start of the year of the tiger. The Chinese calendar is based on the Lunar calendar. People born in the year of the tiger are persistent, loyal, and strong in the face of adversity.The Lunar New Year is the most important holiday in China and is celebrated over a period of two weeks. The long holiday is commonly filled with family reunion dinners, visiting friends, honoring ancestors, dragon/lion dances, and of course, fireworks. The two-week holiday ends with the colorful Lantern Festival."The Chinese New Year is the most important festival in Chinese culture, a time of gathering together with family and friends.
