Description
Recent results indicate the optimal irrigation scheduling and fertilization timing strategies for young and mature orange trees. Recent research has shown Integrated nutrient management and crop protection strategies appear to improve root health, canopy size, juice quality and fruit yield in bearing orange trees. In young orange and mandarin trees, elevated micronutrients improve biomass and nutrient accumulation. Other research has shown the optimal times for applying nutrients based on tree demand. Join us for this informative workshop to learn about optimal irrigation scheduling and fertilization timing strategies and irrigation/fertilizer application amounts for both young and mature trees. This program is designed for commercial citrus growers and irrigation/fertilizer companies/vendors. For over 100 years, the University of Florida (UF) Citrus Research and Education Center (CREC) has been honored to assist the citrus industry in meeting its developmental needs through its Research, Extension, and Teaching programs. CREC is the oldest and largest off-campus experiment station in UF's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (UF/IFAS) and is unique among research centers in that it focuses entirely on one commodity: citrus.
