HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, FL — A single rollover crash killed a 33-year-old Tampa man Wednesday night on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County, a Florida Highway Patrol news release said.
The driver lost control of his truck on I-75 northbound at about 7:10 p.m., authorities said. It spun to the inside shoulder and then went back across the northbound lanes to the outside shoulder. The vehicle flipped over multiple times after it went to the outside shoulder, and the driver and his 22-year-old male passenger of Tampa were thrown from the truck, investigators said.
The driver died at the crash location, troopers said. The passenger was last listed in serious condition by medical staff at a local hospital, according to police.
