Netflix Series 'Jigsaw' LI Shoot On Hold Over COVID-19: Village

PATCHOGUE, NY — Producers for the new Netflix heist series "Jigsaw" had plans to shoot footage in Patchogue and Blue Point, but the entire project was placed on hold due to COVID-19, Patchogue Village Clerk Lori Devlin told Patch. The series was described to village officials as an "inventive, non-linear story centering around an elaborate heist in Manhattan," said Devlin, adding that it was to shoot at Lombardi's on the Bay in Patchogue and the Town of Brookhaven's Corey Beach in Blue Point. Devlin said she did not have dates for a future schedule. In a Facebook post on Jan. 5, village officials notified residents, who live near Lombardi's, that the series had been scheduled to shoot the next day, but it was canceled. "It has been postponed to a future as yet to be determined date," the post read. A Netflix spokeswoman said she was "not able to release any specifics but, as you can imagine, due to COVID several precautions are put in to place that cause delays." She did not respond to requests for further information. The series was ordered in September and was described as taking place over 24 years and "loosely inspired by the real story where $70 billion dollars in bonds went missing in downtown Manhattan during Hurricane Sandy," Variety reported in September. It stars Giancarlo Esposito, Paz Vega, Rufus Sewell, Tati Gabrielle, Peter Mark Kendall, Rosaline Elbay, Jai Courtney, and Niousha Noor. It's being produced by Ridley Scott's Scott Free Productions, according to What's On Netflix.
