Description

SALEM, MA —Salem will have two more coronavirus test opportunities for residents in the next week. Salem Coronavirus Awareness Network PCR testing will take place at the Community Life Center on Bridge Street from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday and from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. Proof of residency is required at registration. Proof of citizenship or insurance is not needed for testing. Those arriving for tests will enter on the side of the building. Masks are required to be worn when inside the building. Cataldo Ambulance will conduct the nasal swab tests with results emailed within 24 to 48 hours. Those who do not receive their results within two days can call 844-422-8253 to get them. Salem officials will also begin distributing additional free at-home rapid tests to schools, high-risk and disproportionately impacted populations this weekend, with any additional tests available to the public starting on Tuesday. "With the rapid rise in COVID-19 cases following the holidays we are working hard to try to ensure that every Salem resident who needs a test is able to get one," Mayor Kim Driscoll. "Together we can help keep one another safe, reduce the likelihood of additional spread of the virus, and lessen the significant burden currently facing our hospitals and frontline healthcare workers."
