Description

Press release from the Levittown Public Schools: January 13, 2022 In addition, all of the kindergarten classes have been completing wintry crafts including snowmen and winter writing. They are using word walls and high frequency words in their writing as they write the room. The children continue to learn about other cultures and holidays throughout the world. We have discussed the Hanukkah, Kwanza, Diwali, Christmas and the New Year's as we celebrate it here in the US. The children worked on crafts incorporating snowmen, trees, snowflakes, mittens, Menorahs, and Kinaras. We have been immersed in poetry and stories of the holiday and winter seasons. It has been very exciting learning about the seasonal weather and our friends' customs. The children enjoyed reading Jan Brett's Gingerbread Baby, and comparing it to The Ginger Bread Man retold by Jim Aylesworth. They compared and contrasted both books enjoying both stories along the way! There have been many journal entries and discussions about the upcoming vacation. The children have expressed much excitement about spending time with their friends and families!
