Description

The Kiwanis Club of Homewood-Mountain Brook is hosting it's 38th annual Pancake Breakfast as a DRIVE THRU only event. Why do we host an annual Pancake Breakfast? Our Kiwanis Club supports the youth of our communities by providing financial and volunteer/community service support to local organizations. In past years, we have given to organizations such as: Children’s Hospital of Alabama, Girls Scouts of North Central Alabama, Renovation of Spring Park in Homewood, Local Head Start Programs, The Red Barn in Leeds, AL (providing equine assisted activities for children), Homewood Public Library, Local Children’s Reading Programs, and Barrett Elementary Outdoor Classroom to name a few. This year's primary beneficiary is the Homewood City Schools Foundation - Supporting Teachers and Students. Each year, the Foundation offers teachers the opportunity to apply for a Homewood City Schools Foundation Grant. This grant provides funds for innovative classroom projects or professional development so that teachers can bring new concepts into classrooms throughout our city.We also provide financial and leadership support to area Kiwanis sponsored youth organizations including: High School Key Clubs in Vestavia, Homewood, Clay-Chalkville and Hewitt-Trussville, Aktion Club at the Exceptional Foundation and Homewood Middle School Builders Club
