WOODBRIDGE, VA — A stolen ambulance from Kaiser Permanente crashed at a Dale City intersection on Wednesday night, according to a report from the Prince William County Police Department. Robert Alexis Guzman, a 36-year-old man from Alexandria, was arrested and accused of stealing an ambulance, driving while intoxicated, and driving without a license. Around 12:03 a.m. on Thursday, officers were called to the intersection of Minnieville Road and Dale Boulevard for a motor vehicle crash. While they were investigating, authorities determined that one of the vehicles involved in the crash, an ambulance, was stolen from Kaiser Permanente's Woodbridge location on Potomac Mills Road. Authorities identified Guzman as the man who stole the ambulance. Police claimed that Guzman drove the vehicle westbound on Minnieville Road, where he collided with a BMW 325i in the intersection with Dale Boulevard. Officers also believe that Guzman attempted to flee the scene after the crash in the damaged ambulance. The ambulance struck a road sign before stopping in the roadway, according to the police report. The driver of the BMW, a 26-year-old man, suffered minor injuries in the crash. Guzman was taken to a hospital, for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening. During their investigation, officers also determined that Guzman was intoxicated and driving without a license. Guzman is now being held without bond. His court date is scheduled for Feb. 24. He faces charges of driving while intoxicated, driving on a revoked license, and grand larceny of a vehicle.
