Description

DANVERS, MA —The Danvers Fire Department will use a $19,000 Department of Fire Services grant to purchase protective equipment for the town's five new firefighters. Danvers Fire Chief Bob Amerault said on Thursday the department received the funding as part of the Fiscal Year 2022 Firefighter Safety Equipment Grant Program. The funds are intended to enhance safety measures without further burdening cities and towns. Danvers was one of more than 300 cities and towns across the state to receive grant funding. The program enables fire departments to purchase a variety of equipment designed to make firefighters' jobs safer. This is the second year that funding has been awarded for this purpose.
