MIDDLETOWN, CT — A Middletown man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison in connection with a home invasion in 2020, according to officials. Lawrence Lee Henderson, 41, was also sentenced to 10 years of special parole following the prison term, Middlesex State's Attorney Michael A. Gailor announced in a news release. Henderson was found guilty of home invasion, a felony punishable by up to 25 years in prison with a maximum fine of $20,000, according to Gailor. Authorities said Henderson and another person forced their way into the victim's Middletown apartment around 11 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2020. "The victim testified that he was getting ready for bed when the incident occurred," officials wrote in the news release. "After gaining entry, Henderson restrained the victim while the other individual searched the home for valuables. "During the course of the incident, the victim suffered various injuries including a laceration to the head. He refused medical attention." With the assistance of a K-9 unit, Middletown police found Henderson hiding in some bushes near the apartment, according to officials. Police weren't able to identify the other suspect, but officials said Henderson was taken into custody without incident.
