Description
MANCHESTER, CT — A salon has ben proposed to take a space in an old industrial building in Manchester.
Officials said Tuesday that a Zoning Board of Appeals application has been submitted, requesting a variance to allow a hair salon at 642 Hilliard St.
The variance is needed because the building sits in an industrial zone.
According to rental listings on Loopnet, the holding company Hilliard Mills LLC was founded in 2006 to restore, renovate and preserve the old industrial building.
Restoration and renovation of the site has been "sympathetic to and accentuates the original architecture of the buildings, while offering modern, energy efficient amenities for today's business needs," according to the listing.
Historical displays are incorporated throughout the property, showcasing photographs and artifacts from different periods of the site.
