Why Work Here? “Growing generator company looking to invest in new employees!” Generator Source is currently looking to add a motivated Generator Technician Apprentice to our rapidly expanding Industrial Generator Service team. We are located in Brighton, Colorado and have been in the power generation industry for over 40 years. We are a growing industrial diesel generator company that buys and sells surplus and used commercial power generation equipment throughout the world. Our focus is on low-hour industrial diesel and natural gas generators that are 20 kW to 2000 kW from top name brands like Cummins, Caterpillar, Kohler, Generac, MTU Onsite Energy and more. We also provide troubleshooting, repair and service on generators as well as installs and de-installs. JOB SUMMARY: The Technician apprentice is a critical part of the Service Department and helps the department’s technicians prepare for jobs, complete larger assignments, and work independently to support our customers. The ideal candidate has a mechanical background and has a capacity to listen and learn from an experienced team. For the right person, this position could eventually serve as a stepping stone to becoming a full generator technician. As such, the employee will be expected to learn quickly and be able to comprehend mechanical and electrical concepts. The technician works directly with our highly-trained technicians, service, and parts department. The position based in Brighton, CO but will involve traveling to local customers most days in a Company vehicle. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: -Work in yard and warehouse to move equipment · Assist technicians with preparation / recovery from jobs – including stocking service vehicles with parts and supplies for upcoming jobs, loading / unloading load bank cables, and preparing supplies for transport to customer site(s) · Drive company vehicles and trailers to job sites · Drive fork truck to load equipment on company vehicles · Move equipment / supplies around customer site(s) · Maintain cleanliness and appearance of department area, equipment, and vehicles · Deliver diesel fuel to local customers using company vehicles and equipment · Wash, clean, and dry customer generators utilizing company power washing equipment · Assist with other duties as required -Basic fabrication or refurbishing knowledge is a plus JOB REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: · Must be self-starter, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision · Must be able to lift 75 lbs. and work up to 8 hours per day outside / on feet · Must have a clean driving record · Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen · Understand and follow proper safety techniques · Previous history of mechanical training or positions requiring mechanical aptitude highly valued.
