Press release from the Summit Public Schools: 2022-01-13 PEP Program Now Accepting Applications The PEP Program is now accepting applications for the 2022-2023 school year! The PEP Program is looking for eligible and motivated Summit Public School sixth graders for the 2022-2023 school year. PEP is a college-access program that offers both academic and social-emotional support, and provides college tuition assistance to select students. "The program includes subject-based tutoring, study skills and test prep, character development and cultural enrichment, along with ongoing post-graduate support," said Michael McCook, Executive Director of PEP, which is located on Franklin Place. PEP students demonstrate a commitment to both academic excellence and community service, the executive director noted, with an emphasis on civic responsibility. Mr. McCook described the program as "focused, challenging, and rigorous," and said students most likely to succeed within PEP are achievement-oriented. In order to be considered, students and parents must first complete an application process that assists PEP staff in assessing each student's potential for success. If your child is interested in applying to PEP and is currently a sixth grade student at LCJSMS or you would like to learn more information about the program, please visit www.pepprogramnj.org or call (908)-277-1106. The deadline for applications for the 2022-2023 school year is January 31, 2022. This press release was produced by the Summit Public Schools. The views expressed here are the author's own.
