Here are the top 3 stories today in Salt Lake City: Remember the Carl's Jr. on 200 S and State Street Downtown? Well, that's where ground has now officially been broken for The Astra Tower, Utah's soon-to-be tallest building. And the data show that it takes earning six figures in order to afford the average single-family home in a market that experts say is not slowing down. (KUTV 2News) Even with a pandemic, Downtown SLC still needs office towers. That's according to Downtown Alliance, a booster organization for Downtown Salt Lake, which cites office space occupancy data that suggests 29,000 people have returned to work Downtown since the Coronavirus sent many to work from home. But returning to work isn't where all the occupancy increase is happening, since part of SLC's growth is from companies either relocating to or expanding their operations in Salt Lake.
