Press release from the Howard County Government: 01/12/2022 Four people were transported to the hospital in the collision. A suspect who rammed a police vehicle was then involved in a serious collision Wednesday evening in Columbia after a short pursuit.    At approximately 5:50 p.m., an officer conducting area checks in a shopping center in the 6400 block of Dobbin Road observed an adult male suspect attempting to break into vehicles. While attempting to flee, the suspect rammed the unoccupied police vehicle and another vehicle. No one was injured.    Police observed the suspect vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Impala, nearby and initiated a pursuit. The suspect vehicle traveled north on Snowden River Parkway at Snowden Square Drive where it ran a red light and struck a 2020 Honda HR-V in the intersection.    The three occupants of the Honda – two adults and one juvenile – were transported to Johns Hopkins Hospital with serious injuries. The suspect was transported to University of Maryland Shock Trauma with serious injuries.   Police are continuing to investigate the incident and charges against the suspect are pending. Snowden River Parkway northbound from Oakland Mills Road to McGaw Road was closed for approximately 3 1/2 hours.    ### This press release was produced by the Howard County Government.
