At 6 p.m. Jan. 13 in the City Council Chamber at City Hall, the Redistricting Task Force will conduct a public hearing on seven selected redistricting maps.
Any member of the public who wishes to address the task force during the public presentations portion of the meeting must register by 4 p.m. Thursday. Registered speakers may make comments in-person or via call-in option. Comments are limited to three minutes per registered speaker. To register as a speaker, contact Melissa Brunner in the City Secretary's Office by email at 817-392-6156.
Earlier this month, the Redistricting Task Force selected seven submitted maps for further consideration as members work to choose a single map to be forwarded to the City Council. A new 10-district map is expected to be in place in late March.
The seven proposed maps selected for further consideration (listed in descending order with maps receiving the most points listed first):
Map X, by Pablo Calderon. Map Z, by Fernando Florez. Map Q, by Michelle Swindle. Map M, by Rejina Shrestha. Map U, by Paul Wilson. Map I, by Fernando Florez. Map S, by Cary Moon. Map X, by Pablo Calderon. View all of the maps on the redistricting page.
The creators of each of the seven selected maps are encouraged to register to speak and attend Thursday's hearing to discuss their proposed map.
