Description

Press release from Southern Maine Community College: January 13, 2022 All classes at SMCC will be offered online only during the first week of the Spring Semester as a safety precaution against the recent surge of COVID-19 cases in Maine. In-person classes will be taught remotely for the first week of the semester, which begins Tuesday, Jan. 18. The affected classes will return to in-person instruction the following Monday, Jan. 24. The health and well-being of students and employees is the top priority of SMCC. President Joe Cassidy said it appears that COVD-19 cases are starting to level off in parts of the Northeast, and that the College is hopeful that going remote for the first week of the semester will help continue that trend. Residence hall students will still move in over the weekend of Jan. 14-17. Students should keep an eye out for emails from faculty and log in to their Brightspace accounts for more information about their classes. For COVID-19 updates and information regarding immunizations, including required booster shots, please visit the SMCC COVID-19 webpage.
