Press release from Western Kentucky University: January 12, 2022 Western Kentucky University is recognizing 10 Scholars of the College for the fall 2021 semester. The Scholars of the College are the baccalaureate degree students in each undergraduate academic college with the highest cumulative overall grade-point average and a minimum of 60 semester hours earned in residence. Due to tornado damage in Bowling Green on Dec. 11, WKU canceled its December college recognition ceremonies. Fall 2021 graduates will be recognized with Spring 2022 and Summer 2022 graduates during Commencement on May 5 and college recognition ceremonies on May 6. Potter College of Arts & Letters Ashlee Gilbert of Auburn is Scholar of the Potter College of Arts & Letters with a major in Criminology. Gilbert is a graduate of the Mahurin Honors College and is the daughter of Don and Holly Gilbert. Dan Lyne of Utica is Scholar of the Potter College of Arts & Letters with a major in Visual Arts. Lyne is the son of Shirl Nafziger-Lyne and Tim Lyne. Gordon Ford College of Business Emma Goetz of Owensboro is Scholar of the Gordon Ford College of Business with a major in Finance. Goetz is the daughter of Gerald and Michelle Goetz. Hannah Huffaker of Glasgow is Scholar of the Gordon Ford College of Business with a major in Mathematical Economics. Huffaker is the daughter of Harold and Melanie Huffaker. Emilee Marshall of White House, Tennessee, is Scholar of the Gordon Ford College of Business with a major in Accounting. Marshall is a graduate of the Mahurin Honors College and is the daughter of Bill and Bonnie Marshall. Zena Pare of Alvaton is Scholar of two colleges, the Gordon Ford College of Business with majors in Economics and International Business, and the Potter College of Arts & Letters with a major in Corporate and Organizational Communication. Pare is a graduate of the Mahurin Honors College and is the daughter of Dr. Grady H. and Cindi Pare. Pare, who completed a minor in American Sign Language Studies and certificates in in Applied Data Analytics and Advanced Professionalism, also is the Ogden Foundation Scholar, WKU's top undergraduate academic award. College of Education and Behavioral Sciences Mackenzie Carver of Drakesboro is Scholar of the College of Educational and Behavioral Science with a major in Elementary Education. Carver is the daughter of Brian and Melissa Carver. College of Health and Human Services Lauren Batten of Russellville is Scholar of two colleges, the College of Health and Human Services with a major in Exercise Science, and the Potter College of Arts & Letters with a major in Music. Batten is the daughter of Doug and Leslie Batten. Brooke Hammer of Glasgow is Scholar of the College of Health and Human Services with a major in Nursing. Ogden College of Science and Engineering Ahmed Dheyaa Kamaluldeen of Bowling Green is Scholar of the Ogden College of Science and Engineering with a major in Biology.
