FREMONT, CA — The Alameda County coroner's bureau has released the name and hometown of a man killed in a crash in Newark last weekend. He was Juan Antonio Gonzalez-Ramirez, 22, of Newark. A report earlier this week said he was a Fremont resident. Gonzalez-Ramirez was a passenger in a vehicle that hit a parked car at 11:20 p.m. on St. Isabel Avenue near Cedar Boulevard. The driver and two other passengers sustained minor injuries. The driver, identified by Bay City News as Salvador Silva-Ramierz of Newark, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. Anyone with information about this collision is asked to please contact Traffic Officer Anthony Piquette via email at [email protected] or by phone at 510-578-4953.
