BURNSVILLE, MN — Flames tore through part of a large apartment building Wednesday night in Burnsville, leaving several families without homes, according to officials. The Burnsville Fire Department was called just before 10 p.m. Wednesday to a blaze at the Glen at Burnsville Apartments, 13100 Harriet Ave., where outdoor decks were engulfed in flames on all three floors, officials said. Residents of the apartment building were evacuated as crews worked to put out the fire, which damaged six units and left the building unlivable, FOX 9 reports. Paramedics checked out several people outside the apartment building, but none needed further evaluation or treatment, fire officials said. Allina EMS and five other fire departments — from Savage, Apple Valley, Eagan, Bloomington and Lakeville — responded to Wednesday night's blaze, officials said. The Burnsville Police Department, Minnesota Valley Transit Authority, Dakota Electric, Center Point Gas and the Red Cross also provided support.
