Press release from Batavia Public School District 101: January 13, 2022 Wednesday, January 12, 2022 (Archivo de mensajes en español) Hello BPS101 Families- Thank you for opening this message, and we hope you read it to the end. There is a lot of information in this one, so please buckle up and join us as we share details on several things happening in the District right now. COVID-19 Update Last evening, the Illinois Department of Public Health and Illinois State Board of Education announced that the agencies had adopted the CDC guidance for P-12 schools that halves the isolation and quarantine period. As a result, BPS101 will implement the updated guidance. We will also be updating our page over the next couple of days. Here is a relatively simple table on the CDC website that explains when your student should stay home. Here are some additional FAQs from their site. Be Heard – Community Engagement Sessions The Batavia Public School District is seeking community input on the future of our school facilities. You may have heard about the Building Our Future Together educational master facilities plan, and now we need your help in moving it forward. We will be hosting a series of community engagement sessions to gather feedback on where we are headed. Please join us for our first session on February 1st from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at Batavia High School. For more info, please visit https://www.bps101.net/boft/. Food pricing increases Due to supply chain disruption and shortages, the district's food service provider has made some price adjustments to a small number of a la carte items. Students will see some price increases on a handful of items beginning January 18th (specific to Batavia High School and Rotolo Middle School). Meal prices remain unchanged. Thank you for understanding. Kindergarten Meet & Greet If you have a child turning 5 by September 1, 2022, we invite you to join us for our Kindergarten Meet & Greet. These sessions allow families to submit all of their registration documents and meet a member of the administration team from their school. More… Alumni Nations Join the Bulldog Nation Alumni & Friends community! Go to bulldogalumni.nationbuilder.com for more information. Any new Bulldog Nation Alumni & Friends member who joins between now and February 28th will receive a thank you gift and be entered into a drawing for another fantastic prize! There is no cost to join. Preschool Open House All parents/guardians with children that will be 3 or 4 years old by September 1, 2022, are invited to an informational session on the BPS101 preschool program and the preschool lottery. The 2022 Preschool Open House will take place on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, from 6 pm-7 pm. More… Rescheduled Event The BSPN event, "Signs Your Child Might Be Depressed or Anxious," has been postponed from this Thursday evening to Thursday, February 10th, from 7-8:00 PM at BHS. More… 5Essentials – 2022 Illinois Parent Survey In a Messenger that was sent to parents/guardians yesterday, we asked you to complete the University of Chicago 5Essentials survey. The results of this survey will be compiled and reported in aggregate, so your individual responses will not be shown. The survey will take about 6 minutes to complete, and we would appreciate the investment of your time. Some questions may be difficult because they were created pre-COVID, please answer the questions to the best of your ability. Thank you for making it to the end of this message. We really appreciate the time you invest in this partnership with us. Be well, BPS101 This press release was produced by Batavia Public School District 101.
