BERKELEY, CA — An unserialized "ghost" gun and an unspecified amount of powder cocaine were seized last week during the arrest of a 27-year-old man for an outstanding warrant, the Berkeley Police Department said.
Prosecutors on Jan. 6 charged the suspect with possession of a concealed firearm, possession of a large capacity magazine, and possession of a controlled substance, police said.
An officer at around 3:25 a.m. on Jan. 5 spotted a vehicle parked off of the roadway in a grassy area near Ashby Avenue and Frontage Road, police said.
The officer discovered that the owner had an outstanding warrant for his arrest after conducting a records check, police said.
After confirming the man's identity, the officer arrested him on the outstanding warrant, police said.
A search of the vehicle revealed the serialized with an extended magazine and several baggies of powder cocaine, police said.
