I recently posted lost cat ad to several sites. Almost immediately got responses that start with "have your cat." One wanted to send verification code. One posted a nice photo...that I used images.google.com to trace back to pinterest. (A particularly nice photo--very in focus, well composed is likely lifted from somewhere) One wanted to know about a reward. One suggested using "toolsforpets," for $50. ALL ARE SCAMS!!! Ask for address, video and suggest meeting at police station. If have another pet that will know missing, say you will bring along. Remember, they possibly stole your cat or dog just to claim reward, so while you can offer reward, if at police station, you can suggest to officer they stole it and ask they be questioned. You could test by posting photo of deceased pet or one home safe, see what you get. BE CAREFUL.
