This sweet boy is our maricopa county foster. He’s a neutered 3yr shar pei mix and an absolute sweetheart. Unfortunately due to his skin issues (likely manageable with vet guidance, and many locations offer a free first exam for new pups!) my partner and I are extremely allergic to him. Usually it’s manageable for us but with him it’s just not. The last thing we want to do is take him back to the shelter so we are trying to find him a forever home as soon as we can. He is quite puppyish in his behavior and often approaches things timidly. He is very smart and food motivated though so he learns very quickly and really wants to please you! He is an absolute lover and just wants to come curl up in your lap. He’s learning leash behavior since the outside world can be scary, but already knows sit and lay down! He is partially housebroken and does fine when taken out regularly or crated. He doesn’t love his crate but will kennel when needed, he just cries for a minute or two (since he’d rather be with you) and then settles down. Not sure how he is with other dogs or cats due to the distemper cases halting intros at the shelter, but he was non reactive in the shelter when walking by and just looks scared when we pass barking dogs on our short walks. But since he does learn fast, he may do fine as long as he’s introduced slowly with lots of treats!
