Experienced Bass Player Looking

Very experienced bass player (30+ years) looking for something fun to do. I've been in cover bands, original bands, funk, punk, rock, pop, country (never again), everything. I have too many influences to list and I can create any kind of sound. I play fretted, fret-less, 4 string, 5 string, 12 string, keyboard bass, etc. I'm well versed in effects laden sounds, gritty, or clean and funky. I cover the low end. I'm open to original projects (especially collaborating via the internet), or maybe a cover band or tribute type thing if the music is of interest to me. For most purposes I prefer to do my homework at HOME and rehearse as needed. I'd like to play no more than 25 gigs a year (I have a serious job that occupies many of my hours). Very limited out of town gigging is possible, but it could never be a regular thing. Basically, I'm looking for other folks like me, I'm 55, empty nest but many demands on my time, very confident in my abilities, NOT looking to be a rock star or tour. I'd like to play with other competent, professional (at least in demeanor) players, who want to create and/or play a few gigs. I am VERY committed to the things I choose to do and even though this is just for fun, I want to put my best foot forward always. Putting on a good show and really wowing the audience is the most fun for me. Ok, I said too many influences to list but I can't resist a few key touch points just in case they catch your eye or ear. 1. Prince (huge fan) 2. really almost anything from Minneapolis in the mid 80's 3. Squeeze (intricate detailed song writing) 4. Simple Minds (anything with a huge anthemic sound always does it for me) 5. XTC (genius song writing, very intricate playing) Many, many others, but as you can see, diverse. Quality always catches my ear. The only thing I'd rule out offhand (other can country) is any kind of metal, just not my thing. If this speaks to you...hit me up.
