The Wallkill Fire District is seeking an individual on a part-time basis (approximately 20 hours/month) to act as Records Keeper. Reporting directly to the Board of Fire Commissioners, the successful candidate will be well-organized, computer savvy, and must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of the records of the Fire District and the records of the Wallkill Hook, Ladder, and Hose Company. This is the perfect opportunity for someone looking to pick-up a few extra hours each week to supplement their income. The work performed for this position shall be done onsite at the firehouse. Essential duties include: • Retrieve the mail from the Post Office Box and sort for the department Chief, Department Treasurer, Board of Fire Commissioners, and District Secretary/Treasurer • Enter fire calls into the appropriate software, ensuring that each member who responded receives proper credit • Maintain department retention records for the Length of Service Award Program and run reports as required • Maintain member personnel files • Maintain and manage annual physical exams, notifying the Board of Fire Commissioners of anyone who is noncompliant • Complete and submit the necessary paperwork for Worker’s Compensation • Retrieve phone messages and distribute to the appropriate person • Type letters as requested • Attend and report at the monthly Board of Fire Commissioners meetings • Other duties as assigned Interested applicants who feel they meet the necessary qualifications may mail their resume with salary requirements to Philip LaRocco, Secretary, Wallkill Fire District, PO Box 460, Wallkill, NY, 12589 or email to [email protected].
