Weston & Sampson Services is currently looking for a Pump Station/Collection System Operator for Cape Cod, Harwich Region. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations to operate, service and maintain wastewater pump stations What you’ll do: •Repair and perform maintenance on wastewater facility and pumping stations equipment •Conduct basic troubleshooting and repairs of pump controls and electrical components •Actively participant in the installation and construction of new equipment and pump stations •Complete reports in a timely and complete manner •Perform daily inspections of all sewage pumping stations as needed. Daily, weekly, and monthly basic operation and maintenance tasks at each station. Along with other duties as directed. •Assist with the cleaning of the collection system and station wet wells, monthly grease trap inspections, sewer mark outs, dewatering and disposal of sludge •Assist with sewer installation inspections and verify septic abandonment as requested and septage receiving. •Operate heavy machinery What you’ll bring: •High school diploma or equivalent •At a minimum, must obtain a valid Grade 1 Collection system license and hoisting license within the first six (6) months of employment •At a minimum, must obtain a valid grade 2-M (OIT) wastewater certification issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts within the first twelve (12) months of employment. •Wastewater experience preferred •Cutting and welding certified a plus •Has a scientific and mechanical aptitude; the ability to read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles and other equipment •Must have strong computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other database software •Proven ability to communicate effectively, with strong writing, verbal, and math skills •Self-motivated and ability to work independently •Ability to organize, manage, coordinate multiple assignments, and meet deadlines •Valid driver’s license with good driving record Salary: Dependent on years of experience and licensing. Incentives: Pay increase are offered with each new acquired license (Wastewater, Water, or other job-related license). Sign-On Bonus: Sign-on bonuses are available. Requirements: Full-time position may require various shifts and/or flexible hours. You will be expected to participate in the on-call rotation, occasional overtime, holidays, weekends and nights.
