Do you like working on your feet? Have you ever taken a part a computer before just for fun? Do you like building things? Then this job may be for you! We are a large software/security company that is looking for a network field technician to perform server maintenance and be our remote hands and eyes in our data centers. Maintenance consists of un-racking servers and racking replacements, Ethernet / power cable wiring, re-seating PC components, replacing hard drives and diagnosing simple hardware issues. No previous data center experience is necessary. An ideal candidate should have basic computer diagnostic skills, hard working, reliable, a desire to learn, willingness to be micro managed and be a team player but still be able to work independently. The candidate needs to have the ability to lift 50 pounds and the ability to un-box and move equipment several contiguous hours / days. Strong preference for someone with a reliable car. The job requires movement between 2 or 3 sites in the greater central NJ area. Additional skills/experience (not required but please mention if you have these) Experience working in a data center Experience working with server hardware Experience with intra building cross connects Tool requirements if hired A smart phone with email capabilities, driver's license, laptop, basic set of hand tools, screwdrivers, battery powered drill, small socket set and scissors General availability Daytime (8 am - 5 pm, M-F) In your response, please confirm that you meet the requirements listed above, and include a recent resume.
