Description
A two-hour workshop to help individuals develop practical skills to overcome struggles with food and body image. Today’s culture is filled with messages about the body. Society tells us that in order to have value, our bodies must be a reflection of the “standard image of beauty”. And yet, God tells us that our worth is defined by so much more, and that you are "fearfully and wonderfully made". In this workshop, led by DC-based mental health nonprofit Rock Recovery, we will unpack scripture to find encouragement and healing in God’s truth of how we are to view our relationship with food and the body. Highlights of this workshop will include: A 60-minute training, led by the Rock Recovery leadership, to define self image and unpack diet culture/beauty standardsPractical skills and takeaways to use in everday life as you continue to heal your self-imageBreakout discussion groups to encourage community and self-reflectionGroup prayer to closeGod desires so much more for you than fighting a lifelong battle with your body. Join us to learn more and take the first step to living in freedom! For questions about this event, email Kristyn Soto at [email protected].
