Bethany Community Garden FREE Gardening Class Series: Microgreens and Cool Season Crops
February 1st: Microgreens and Cool Season Crops:
Microgreens— Microgreens are young and tender edible greens produced by sprouting the seeds of a variety of vegetable
species and herbaceous plants, including aromatic herbs and wild edible species. These quick growing, nutrientdense
tiny greens are grown inside and take very little space. This class will show you how to grow them successfully at
home!
Cool Season Vegetables—March and April are an ideal time to plant cool season vegetables. Learn what, why, when and how to
grow them.
The hope of Bethany Community Garden is to build community while gardening together. Harvested produce will be shared by the gardeners, with additional produce being donated to two local food pantries; A Servant’s Heart and Hunger Inc. In 2020, Bethany Community donated about 5,000 lbs of produce. Backyard Gardeners are encouraged to bring their excess produce in on Tuesday evenings during the growing season to be donated to the food pantries.
