Come volunteer with Asian Americans for Equality at our two monthly food pantries! During the Pandemic, we realized that our Community in Chinatown and Lower East Side were especially vulnerable to the rapid changes and unequal recovery. Since July of 2020, we have aggressively pivoted to regularly providing culturally sensitive groceries to community members from local small owned businesses. Since then, we have distributed almost 50k lbs of groceries while reinvesting $20k back to locally owned businesses. Needless to say, it has been a huge success! However, this cannot be done without volunteers like you. We have the Chinatown pantry on the last Wednesday of every month and the Lower East Side pantry on the last Saturday of every month.
