Forming an indie band

Description

Looking to form an indie group with some like-minded folks!! Stylistically, I like creating in the realms/fusions of dream pop, noise pop, shoegaze, psych, indie rock, lo-fi, jangle, and post-punk. Basically enjoy guitar/synth driven, jammin', weird music with a lil bit of angst. Influences include: Yo La Tengo, Alvvays, Cocteau Twins, Low, Death Consciousness, David Bowie (especially Blackstar), Car Seat Headrest (particularly the How to Leave Town EP), My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Radiohead, Stereolab, The Smiths, The Cure, Pavement, Built to Spill, David Berman (Silver Jews and Purple Mountains), Jason Molina, The Microphones, Flaming Lips, Beach House, Portishead, Japanese Breakfast, and many others, of course. I primarily play guitar, but I do vocals, keys, bass, percussion, horns, and production (not the best production, that is, haha) for a solo recording project under the moniker Lo Spirits: https://open.spotify.com/artist/2gEuuxtlasklgZLXQwISni?si=UJS0QeEgRm2BXtUsY-YSag. I've recorded a few songs that are on Spotify--"Sisters of the Moon" and "Time Alone at Night" are probably most aligned with the vision I have for making music. That said, I most of all would like to collaborate on a shared vision to make fun/weird music that we love. Hoping to do some jamming, create original songs, play some live shows, and see how it goes from there. I like singing, but am not very good, so would especially love to work with a vocalist. Hoping to have 3-4 people, but open to more. Another guitarist would be great, as would a dedicated keys player, bassist, and drummer. Folks who play any brass, woodwinds, or strings and would like to use them for the aforementioned styles are also more than welcome. Shoot me an email if you're interested! Let me know what you play, what you'd like to get out of it/level of commitment, pass along some tunes/demos if you have 'em, and anything else you'd like to share. Inclusive of all genders, backgrounds, orientations, identities, etc. <3 Cheers, Lou
