READING, MA — Mark Dockser is running for re-election to the Reading Select Board.
In his campaign announcement, Dockser said it has been an "honor for me to serve on the Select Board in Reading for the past three years."
"I have a very strong commitment to this community and believe that I have been able to make a positive difference with strong support from the community," Dockser said in a statement.
Dockser served as chair of the select board for one year and secretary for the other two, during which time he said the board made progress on supporting the town's schools, understanding the needs of seniors for services and better facilities, expanding community resources like the Birch Meadow development project and the town forest, standing up for equity and social justice and advancing energy savings and sustainability efforts.
"Even with the challenges of COVID, we have been able to keep residents safe and secure, continue the operations of the town, and lead a variety of efforts for the benefit of the residents, visitors, and businesses in town," he said.
Dockser added that Reading is in a "good place," touting its strong town and school staff and recent hiring of a new town manager.
"But we still have lots to do, and it is this challenge that has me ready to serve again," he said.
Reading's town election will be held April 5. Visit Docker's campaign website here: http://www.electmarkdockser.com.
