With Burlington Town Election Coming, Residents Can Enter Races

BURLINGTON, MA — Here's a fun way to contribute to your community: Get elected and serve. The town said in a press release it is seeking residents to take out papers for the April 9 Town Election. Nomination papers must be withdrawn by Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. To run, you must be a registered vote living in Burlington and register at the Town Clerk's office as a candidate for the office you are seeking. Those running for town office need get 50 of Burlington's registered voters to sign your candidate papers and return the papers by mail or drop box at the Town Clerk's office by Feb. 18 There are a number of open seats available, including: Town office Moderator (1 yr) (1 seat)Selectmen (3 yr) (2 seats)Assessor (3 yr) (1 seat)School Committee (3 yr) (1 seat)Library Trustees (3 yr) (2 seats)Planning Board (5 yr) (2 seat)Board of Health (3 yr) (2 seats)Housing Authority (1 yr) (1 seat)Recreation Commission (3 yr) (1 seat)Constable.
