MARYLAND — As the omicron variant of COVID-19 continues to drive up cases and the pandemic wears on, vaccines continue to be touted as the number one tool to fight back. And the longer the pandemic goes on, and the more widespread vaccine requirements become, the more residents might have need to show a vaccine card. Individuals receive a card from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention when they get a shot. And while digital copies are accepted in some places, the original version — or the equivalent proof of vaccination — is required elsewhere. People who lose their cards can request official proof of vaccination online. The state uses a service called ImmuNet, which enables people to get their records through MyIR (My Immunization Record). This draws on records health care providers have reported to the system. For records of vaccinations from the federal government or another state, residents should contact whoever administered the vaccinations.
