ANNAPOLIS, MD — Annapolis roadwork may cause delays this week near the Anne Arundel Medical Center's COVID-19 testing location. Officials urged drivers to plan ahead and expect delays. Crews will resurface the intersection of Maryland Route 2, also known as Solomons Island Road, and Jennifer Road this Thursday and Friday. The work will run from 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day. This is part of the resurfacing of Maryland Route 2 between Jennifer Road and Maryland Route 450, also known as West Street. On Thursday and Friday, drivers should take Maryland Route 450 to reach Maryland Route 2 and U.S. Route 50. Workers will leave a clear path to the hospital, which sits steps away from the job site. Residents can get a free, walk-up coronavirus test at the medical center between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. each day. Lines form quickly, so many locals show up early. For directions to the clinic and to see other testing locations, visit covidtest.maryland.gov. Anybody with roadwork questions can call 1-800-331-5603 to speak with the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration's District 5 Office, which is managing the project.
