FOOTHILL RANCH, CA —Lake Forest area teenager Benjamin Broughton was positively identified as the boy killed in a single-car crash Friday, Orange County Coroner's OFfice reported. Broughton, 17, died after his Honda Civic struck a tree on Santiago Canyon Road near Blue Canyon Road at 8:30 p.m. Friday. The car he was driving veered left, crossing the southbound lanes, then struck a tree, according to California Highway Patrol. According to an OC Register report, Broughton's father was first to the sceneand performed CPR on his son. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene, according to CHP reports.
