Description
RICHFIELD, MN — Richfield Public Schools began distance learning Wednesday. District officials ended in-person classes this week due to staffing shortages.
Distance learning will be held Wednesday through Friday for students in preschool through 12th grade. Athletics and extracurricular activities will continue this week.
"Due to staff absences and vacant positions in critical areas, including transportation and operations, we are not able to provide transportation or in-person instruction in a safe and high-quality manner at this time," Superintendent Steven Unowsky said in a statement.
"We recognize that this shift will be difficult for some families, especially on such short notice."
Parents in need of assistance this week are encouraged to reach out to their school principal, counselor, or outreach worker.
Athletics and extracurricular activities will continue this week.
