BERKELEY, CA — A wanted domestic violence suspect was arrested Saturday in Berkeley at the end of a foot chase, police said.
The 39-year-old Berkeley man was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed firearm among other crimes, the Berkeley Police Department said.
An officer at around 8:15 a.m. on Saturday who was patrolling the 2300 block of Eighth Street recognized the man as a wanted suspect in connection with a domestic violence case and proceeded to conduct a records check, police said.
The victim in the November domestic violence case suffered multiple head injuries, police said.
The man ran away after the officer told him he had a warrant for his arrest, police said.
The officer caught up with the suspect about a half block away according to police.
During a search of the man the officer found a loaded un-serialized firearm, also known as a "ghost gun," police said.
