Happy Thursday, people of Anchorage! Let's start today off on an informed note, shall we? Here's everything going on today in town. First, today's weather: Cloudy with a bit of snow. High: 36 Low: 33. Here are the top 3 stories today in Anchorage: A man who was the suspect in a fatal East Anchorage shooting committed suicide this past Sunday. After finding him, police followed Kawika Pacarro's vehicle until he pulled over at a dead-end street. According to reports, he talked to the police briefly and then proceeded to take his life. Details about the conversation prior to his death have not been disclosed. (Yahoo News) Health officials in Alaska have stated that the omicron variant is hitting the community hard and fast. The ongoing increase of cases is making it extremely difficult for healthcare workers to keep up. There are also so many unknowns about the future of this variant. (Alaska Public Media News)The Alaska Board of Fisheries meeting has been rescheduled to March. They have also changed the location from Ketchikan to Anchorage! This board consists of seven members, and they are in charge of determining regulations for state-managed commercial, sport and subsistence fisheries.
